Back-to-School Party and School Supplies Give-Away!

On Saturday, September 16, 2006, First Baptist Church of Springfield hosted a special back-to-school party at the Johenning Center. Festivities started at 10 am with a movie projected on a big screen and lots of snacks. At noon, they serveed a big spaghetti lunch, and afterward back packs filled with school supplies were given away. These are great looking, high quality back packs full of school supplies, donated by the people of First Baptist Church of Springfield. Preference of backpacks were given to children who participate in the after-school program regularly, and then were given out to children 5-18 on a first-come first-served basis. This event was open to everyone, so all guardians, siblings, family members were welcome.
