December Urban Hands: Stanton River Baptist Association Mission Day and Christmas Party 2006
Monday, December 18th, members of churches of the Stanton River Baptist Association of Virginia came to work at City Gate and give a Christmas party for our after-school program. They arrived Sunday night, stayed overnight at the Johenning Center, and began working bright and early the next day. With a team of 5 adults and 9 youth, they completed a variety of cleaning, organizing, decorating and secretarial work that was a huge help to City Gate staff! During the after-school program, they assisted with homework, and then divided into small group with our kids to read children's books about the nativity. Finally, they served pizza to all and passed out both stockings and presents. City Gate is blessed to have the help of such caring people, what a special day it was for our kids as well!

Needless to say, everyone loved their gifts!
Children were given beautiful stockings filled with toys and gifts, made by members of New Prospect Baptist Church of Hurt, VA.
Thanks, Members of SRBA!
