February Urban Hands: City Gate & Haymarket Baptist Church Host Community Outreach and Clothing Give-away Day
Saturday, February 3rd youth and adult volunteers from Haymarket Baptist Church hosted a community outreach day. Volunteers assisted with setting up tables of clothing on the front lawn of the Johenning Center, and neighborhood children in the after-school program made signs to advertise the event. We gave away many pieces of clothing of all sizes for men, women, children, boys, girls, and infants. Also volunteers served hot chocolate and soup, perfect for a cold winter's day. About twenty children and their families attended; we even used the opportunity to converse with neighborhood residents about what they would like to see City Gate do in the future.
Thanks Haymarket Baptist Church!
