Souper Bowl of Caring 2008
February 3, 2008
As you prepare food for your Super Bowl Sunday festivities... consider those who don't have enough to eat!
City Gate is a Christian non-profit, offering after-school programs, summer day camps, community outreach, and feeding programs to residents in two locations in DC. Each year we feed approximately 15,000 meals to neighborhood children, most of who qualify for free school lunches. From personal experience, we know we are putting meals in front of kids who otherwise may not get them.
Every dollar dropped into a basket or pot on Super Bowl Sunday translates directly into a meal for a child, so please give generously!
The Souper Bowl of Caring is a youth-led, grassroots movement of caring, the result of thousands of young people joining together to fight hunger and poverty in their communities. Since 1990, $33 million has been raised for charities across the country. For more information, see souperbowl.org.
