City Gate Youth at the National Building Museum

National Building Museum City Gate had the opportunity to visit the National Building Museum, the host site for all Presidential Balls. Upon entering this magnificent building, lights were shimmering creating a Christmas atmosphere in which the next day a filming would be taking place. The youth as well as the staff were in awe at its beauty. While at the museum our youth were able to create a city with everyday household items. The children built a hospital, airport, school, mall and many others things that would be essential for any thriving city. Picture this!

Christmas at the Garden

snow Christmas at Atlantic Gardens/Southern Hills was beautiful. The children were bright and cheerful. The staff had great anticipation and excitement in their hearts for all the great things that would take place for our youth. On Monday, December 17, 2007 we had a Christmas Dinner/Party for the City Gate Participants. Stanton River Baptist Association came to bless our youth with lots of love and gifts. snow What a wonderful time we had. Mr. Paul even read the Christmas story to our kids. We had candied yams, turkey, chicken, mashed potatoes, rice, gravy, cranberry sauce, string beans, corn, and desserts. The biggest ingredient we had was LOVE. People gave of themselves and it was greatly appreciated. Thank you WINN for the space, thank you Stanton River for your time, energy, and finances and thank you City Gate staff for your love.

Thank you to Our Parents!

smiley face with flowerCity Gate would like to thank the parents and guardians of our kids. Thank you for allowing your youth to be a part of our family. What we do here at City Gate is a joint effort for not only staff and youth, but also for family and guardians of the youth. Let me take this opportunity to ask parents to please voice your concerns about your child's progress and how we here at City Gate can help. Again, Thanks for all your support.

City Gate's First Snow Fall of the Season at Atlantic Gardens

snow Wow, watch out for your head. Our kids really know how to have fun. It was a cold and late evening, but our youth were up for the challenge. They came out the gate running. Atlantic Gardens had no idea what was coming, snowballs flying everywhere. City Gate looks forward to capturing the moment and our kids fell right in line with that philosophy. Ms. LaShawna, Shaquanna, Jada, Kortnee and Summer compete in the snowball contest of 2007. What a way to end the day. After all was said and done we left each other with much laughter and love. Way, to represent City Gate guys!
