Tenley Circle After-School Program

As Deal Middle School receives new sixth, seventh, and returning eighth graders this year, City Gate opens its doors to welcome middle school kids to a safe, well-monitored after-school program. Conveniently located just off Nebraska Avenue, several blocks from Deal Middle School, City Gate (located at Wisconsin Avenue Baptist Church, 3920 Alton Place NW) offers students homework support and academic and cultural enrichment activities. Volunteer tutors (including American University students) will assist students with more advanced subject matter.

A chaperone will meet students at Deal Middle School at 3:15 to accompany them to the program site. Once on site, students will be provided a nutritious snack so that they are fueled to start their homework. Learning how to manage homework in several subjects and academic success is trump; however students will also enjoy outdoor activities, movies, and games.
