Camp Scholarships

How to make a difference for children

City Gate's vision

Our mission at City Gate includes making summer fun and enrichment experiences available to all children in our city, and we try to make sure no family is prevented from participating in our programs because of cost. Part of fulfilling this vision is offering programs in underserved neighborhoods in Southeast and Southwest D.C. Funding from the Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation for these programs will allow us to provide full scholarships to many D.C. campers for these programs in Southeast and Southwest.

Our Wisconsin Avenue / Northwest DC Program

smiles at JohenningOur program at Wisconsin Avenue Baptist Church at Tenley Circle in Northwest D.C. does not receive outside funding, so our need-based scholarships are more limited at this site. At the same time, program costs (including language immersion, field trips, and additional staffing) are higher, and the relatively modest fees for a high-quality program represent a great value!

Our goal is to keep the program cost as low as possible. If a family is not able to afford the full fee, we ask that you tell us on the form below how much you are able to pay. (Additional financial information may be required before a scholarship is finalized.) We have faith that if everyone pays what they are able, that we will find scholarship funds to make sure no child is left out! We ask your cooperation in this process, so scholarship funds can be spread out as widely as possible.

Please complete the scholarship application below if your child (or children) needs a scholarship in order to attend. (This year Wisconsin Avenue Baptist Church also has a separate Ambassador scholarship program. First consideration is given to children already in the congregation, but other children can sign up until all the scholarships are filled. Please call 202-537-0972 for the application form).

This is our seventh season of summer camps, and we are more excited than ever before about the program we have developed, and the staff we have recruited. Please return scholarship applications (and the registration form, if not already submitted) as soon as possible. Feel free to call 202-237-1799 if you have any questions about any of our sites or programs.
